This category welcomes individuals and organisations that manufactures, distributes and sells bread and bread products. Consider look for loaves that are unique, look and taste well ratings and have been well received by customers. Bread bakers/suppliers should also be able to display exceptional commercial skills, such as providing excellent customer service, and creative marketing.

bakery

This category is open to bakeries that sell baked items made in-store, provided to the retailer part-baked or frozen or fully baked and/or made at a specialized manufacturing site serving the shop. Consider the bakery approach to the bakery sector, including the bakery setting, customer experience, how baked products are merchandised, and how the baked goods selection has evolved.

Customer-Experience-CX-Trends-Every-Company-Must-Get-Ready-For-Now

This category will seek for individuals and organisations that provide exceptional customer service. Who go above in terms of customer service and in-store experience. Be interested in hearing about any initiatives that have improved and/or streamlined the customer experience, such as innovative use of technology, store layout, and so on.

sust

This category welcomes individuals and organisations (distributers, foodservice, craft bakers, and their suppliers). Looking at the initiative’s aims and the steps taken to achieve them, such as improvements in operations, staff buy-in and training, how it was communicated to customers, and any partnerships formed to achieve the results. The project can be continuing, but the outcomes must be seen so far. To illustrate this, entrants will be requested to provide demonstrable results.

This category honours the finest of the best in this extremely competitive and personal field, whether standard tiered works or something unique. It comprises cakes for a proposal, an introduction, an engagement, a traditional wedding, a white wedding, and an anniversary.

celb cak

Celebration cake businesses, with a concentration on independent cake creators. The focus should be on cake artistry, current trend awareness, customer service, marketing strategies, and entrants who can demonstrate why their firm is profitable and progressive.

This category is open to the best bakers in Africa and is a great opportunity for individuals to show how they adapt to market trends. The award is open to professional bakers working in a bakery business of any size as well as bakers who have home based baking business. The focus is not only on practical skills and product innovation but also an understanding of the contestants’ baking ambitions and achievements. He or she must at least be baking once a week and participate in new product development. In this context, the baker must demonstrate how his actions have a positive impact on the company and in the community. Shortlisted participants should expect a site visit. 

new bakery

This category welcomes individuals and organisations. Looking for innovative and marketable products that they have never seen before. Entrees can be brand new or modify the flavour or format of an existing product and must be able to scale production and cost to be able to supply. The products must at least be retailed in-store or online for not more than 12 months.

online baking

This category is for any bakery business that sells its products through a direct-to-consumer website; however, this is not necessarily the company’s only way to market. The company must have been in operation for not less than 6 months. This category will consider website design and usability, sales and marketing, business strategy, and customer service. The ordering process will be evaluated, use of packaging and the quality of the baked goods upon delivery.

outstand bak

This category allows African Bakers followers to honour a remarkable individual who has made or is presently making a significant contribution to the baking business. Nominate someone who has gone above and beyond the limitations of their paid income or ownership to encourage or help others within the bakery sector and occasionally outside of it as well.

employer

This category welcomes companies of all sizes, from manufacturers to stores, craft bakers, wholesale firms, equipment and ingredient suppliers, and more. Searching for for employers who have done the most in the last year to establish a positive working environment by encouraging, redirecting, and training their employees.

manu

Businesses having a separate plant with an automated manufacturing line are eligible for this category. Consider a company that is ambitious, growing, and aiming to be the best in their industry. Entrants must demonstrate that they are driving growth and producing excellent baked products to high standards on a big scale. The company should also show that they care about investing in people, and are environmentally conscious.

novelty

Craft bakery businesses, individual bakers, are eligible for this category. Entries are welcome from all types of craft businesses, whether they run a single retail shop, a chain of high-street stores, or a wholesale artisan bakery. Any cake that has been carved or sculpted and is not a standard geometric shape. A baker who used their creativity and stretched the boundaries of tradition. For its customers, the company should create artisan/craft/handmade/hand finished and customised things. Will be looking for innovative products, customer awareness, local marketing initiatives/promotions, safety, well-trained staff, and applicants who can demonstrate why their company is sound, profitable, and progressive. 

emerging

This category is for new bakers who have been operating for not more than 2 years and it is geared toward individuals who have been inspired and entered into the baking industry. Someone who will help shape the future of the baking business. Enter now if you believe you or someone you know is that individual.

  • This category is for outstanding design/display and inventive decorations for individual and collections of dessert cakes.

Running a successful cake restaurant/shop is not easy. This category celebrates well-run cake restaurants/stores, from unique yummies to first-rate presentation to paying/training workers. The branding and design of the business should be considered.

This category is for cakes with an African tradition twist, depicting any cultural group and relevant to various ethnicities in Africa. Entrants of this category should be individual bakers and should be ready to showcase in stages(video) how they made and reached their goal in creating the best traditional cake.

  • Exhibitions, seminars, and showcases are excellent ways to bring together creative cake designers from throughout the country in the cause of displaying magnificent cakes! They are typically centred on a theme or a platform established by an individual, group, or firm to hold a certain themed event and can be recognized for their overall visual effect and organizational prowess.
